Should I Get Tested For An STD?2023-08-05T03:46:35+00:00

When in doubt, it’s always a good idea to ensure you are protecting your health by getting tested for STDs. Those most at risk for contracting an STD are individuals who have multiple sexual partners and participate in unprotected sex (condoms do help reduce infection rates but do not guarantee complete protection). Getting tested empowers you to take control of your health while protecting others.

What Is An STD?2023-08-05T03:46:17+00:00

An STD (sexually transmitted disease) or STI (sexually transmitted infection) is an infection passed from one person to another, usually via sexual contact. STDs can go unnoticed for long periods of time because they do not always show signs or symptoms. Even though you may not experience symptoms, they can still cause harm to your health.

Why Do I Need An Ultrasound?2024-03-27T23:28:12+00:00

When you have a positive pregnancy test at the Malama Pregnancy Center of Maui, this is an indication that you are likely pregnant. To confirm your pregnancy, we offer a free limited obstetrical ultrasound with our Medical Doctor for qualified clients. This will determine how far along you are, if the pregnancy is in the uterus, and if there is a heartbeat.
Getting a lab-quality pregnancy test and an ultrasound are the first steps you can take in making informed choices for your health.
We require that you have a pregnancy test with us before you receive an ultrasound. If you are under a doctor’s care, your doctor will perform an ultrasound for you. Please note, our center does not perform nor refer for abortions.

When Will I Get My Pregnancy Test Results?2023-08-05T03:44:58+00:00

We provide your pregnancy test results on the same day as your appointment, so there is no wait. We are here for you every step to answer any questions you may have or discuss any concerns you are facing.

When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test?2023-08-05T03:44:47+00:00

To ensure the most accurate results, taking a pregnancy test on the day of your expected period is best. Taking the test after your missed period gives an essential pregnancy hormone called hCG time to build and be detected on a urine test.
We also offer clinical-grade pregnancy tests that may result before this time, so you don’t have to wait. Contact us today to schedule a free appointment with a complimentary pregnancy test!

How much does it cost?2023-08-05T03:39:43+00:00

All of our services are offered free of charge.

How long will my appointment take?2023-08-05T03:39:25+00:00

This will depend on the service(s) we provide to you. However, as a general rule, please allow
for a full hour.

Can I bring someone with me?2023-08-05T03:44:20+00:00

You can absolutely bring someone with you for support. However, for the first 30mins of your appointment, you will meet one-on-one with a Client Advocate. During this time, your guest may remain in the waiting area.

Do I need an appointment?2023-08-05T03:44:03+00:00

Walk-ins are welcome! However, we do ask that you arrive at least an hour before our closing time to allow time for your visit. Appointments are strongly encouraged to reduce your potential wait time.
